Every enterprise already registered with another organisation within the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is required to register with Udyam.

What is Udhyam Registration

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) officially announced the new term "Udyam" for micro, small, and medium businesses on June 26, 2020.
The ministry has also established in-depth criteria for the categorization of MSMEs, along with the registration process and the ministry's provisions for easing this procedure.
The registration procedure will be called Udyam Registration.
The MSME Ministry has announced that Udyam Registration applications can now be submitted online on the basis of self-declaration, without the need to provide any supporting paperwork.

Clasification Of Enterprise

An enterprise shall be classified as a micro, small or medium enterprise on the basis of the following criteria

An enterprise will be classified as Micro if their investment in plant & machinery or equipment is under Rs. 1 Crore and their turnover is under Rs. 5 Crore.

An enterprise will be classified as Small if their investment in plant & machinery or equipment is under Rs. 10 Crore and their turnover is under Rs. 50 Crore.

An enterprise will be classified as Medium if their investment in plant & machinery or equipment is under Rs. 50 Crore and their turnover is under Rs. 250 Crore.
