JSW Steel to redraw design of Odisha project
JSW Steel is set to redraw its project design for the mega steel plant proposed near Paradip in Odisha.
The company is keen on a 12 million tpa instead of a 10 million tpa mill proposed initially.
JSW had asked for 4,500 acre of land for the project, but the Odisha government could allot only 2,700 acre.
The company will invest Rs 50,000 crore on the steel and and associated facilities. The plant is expected to go on stream in four years. The project will generate employment for 50, 000 people.
JSW Steel has committed an investment of Rs 3,700 crore on a slurry pipeline to transport 30 million tonne of iron ore each year from Joda to Paradip. Both the projects have been approved by the high level clearance authority.
